Learn how The Indian Cambridge School, the best boarding school for girls in Dehradun, is sculpting future leaders and breaking the chains of inequality!

The debate about the “best boarding school for girls in Dehradun” continues because Dehradun is home to so many schools. But what makes certain institutions stand out from the rest is the way they approach education. Because, let’s face it, education is not just about getting good marks in exams or facing competitive exams. Education should empower us to become better versions of ourselves so that we can contribute positively to society and the world. And nobody understands this notion better than us at The Indian Cambridge School in Dalanwala.

Our comprehensive approach to education fosters resilience, empathy, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities while instilling social responsibility, compassion, and ethical awareness, encouraging our students to contribute positively to society and our environment. Let’s find out how we have been putting this notion into practice with our most recent excursion.

Inspiring Conservationist I: A Transformative Learning Experience at the Wildlife Institute of India (WII)

In an earnest effort to inspire the next generation of conservationists, the girls at the best boarding school for girls in Dehradun, The Indian Cambridge School, went to the internationally acclaimed Wildlife Institute of India in Chandrabani, Dehradun.

We were greeted by a team of passionate educators and conservation experts who generously shared their wisdom regarding wildlife and the dedicated endeavors WII has taken toward safeguarding endangered species. Our students witnessed firsthand the challenges and responsibilities that come with preserving our planet’s biodiversity. This immersive experience invoked a deep sense of responsibility and ignited a passion for safeguarding our fragile ecosystems within our girls.

Inspiring Conservationist II: The Bal Ganga Prahari Programme

Under the guidance of Dr. Sangeeta Angom, the scientist and training coordinator of the Bal Ganga Prahari Programme, our girls were exposed to the need for environmental stewardship. The Bal Ganga Prahari Programme is an extension of the Ganga Prahari programme, which comes under the National Mission for Clean Ganga-funded project “Biodiversity Conservation and Ganga Rejuvenation.”

We commenced the workshop with a compelling documentary on the sanctity of the Ganga that underscored the urgency of protecting it from pollution. With informative exhibits, our girls learned about various species that play a key role in maintaining ecological equilibrium. This was followed by several hands-on activities, such as a tree plantation drive and mock wildlife rescue operations, which gave them firsthand experiences, and the impact of them all was immeasurable.

The workshop inspired students to minimise waste, preserve resources, support ethical wildlife groups, and raise awareness about preserving our natural environment. The exhibits served as a catalyst, reinforcing their determination to safeguard and conserve our valuable natural resources.
